So far I love this bed!
I do vegetable gardening but I'm fairly new at it. I wanted to get things going earlier in the season this year so I had more time to grow my vegetables. I use all natural fertilizers so things take a little longer to grow for me. I saw this and thought it was perfect because I could plant my vegetables and keep them warm until I could put them outside. There are some pros and cons to this.Pros:It's good sized. It's not massive but it's not tiny either. You can fit a pretty good amount of stuff in it whether it's vegetables or flowers or whatever you grow.I love the color. It's spot on with the advertised pictures.It doesn't feel cheaply made. All the pieces feel pretty durable so far. Hopefully that means it'll last a while and stand up against the elements. I live in the Midwest so we get lots of rain and storms.I love the shelf on the bottom. It makes for easy storage so you have everything you need right in front of you.There are ties to hold the cover on the actual garden bed. I didn't notice them at first and was worried that without something holding it on, the wind would take it right off.The windows have mesh behind the flap so you can keep the windows open without worrying about somthing getting in.Now for the cons:My pieces "5", the 2 long pieces that go in the bottom (see the picture) did not come with the holes in the middle like the instruction booklet showed. I wasn't sure if this would cause a problem or not. I finished putting it together and I didn't need the holes. I think they're probably for drainage. I'm hoping the side holes will be enough so I don't have to drill my own holes.I wish the ties to hold the window and front flaps were more convenient. I don't want to have to tie them every time I need to open the front flap. I'll probably add some Velcro to them to make it quick and easy.The instructions were ok but I got stuck on one step for a while because the picture wasn't super clear. I finally figured it out but it took a while. And maybe that was just user error. I included a picture so you can see for yourself. I finally figured out that it's asking you to the #4 pieces, the bars, on the bottom of the bed to hold the #5 pieces.Overall, once I got past the confusing step on the directions, it was fairly easy to put together. Other than the holes missing, there were no other parts missing. I can't wait to put my soil and vegetables in it and see how it does!
