Squirrel Resistant, NOT Squirrel-Proof!
Bought as a gift for my gardener wife who has a bird feeding problem. Seriously…I didn't realize I was marrying a 90 year old lady who lives for seeing her "birdies" every day. I think the birds know about our house and spread the word that we have the best grub. It's like a bird soup kitchen outside. SOOO MANY BIRDS!!Anyway, the table works great for planting and keeping tools/soil/pots and other things inside. But it is NOT Squirrel-Proof. Wife tried keeping bird food in the cupboard, but a nasty little bugger some call Sandy the Squirrel smelled the delicious goodness and decided a little bit of bamboo(?) wasn't going to keep her from engorging on a feast that would draw the envy of kings! She literally chewed right through the door to get at it, and feast she did. I know somewhere Sandy is passed out at the base of a tree, unable to climb from the extra 15 lbs of seeds and nuts in her belly, completely satisfied with the decisions that were made. On that day, my wife was beaten by a squirrel due to the mistaken assumption that this product could fend off a ravenous rodent. It was quite an embarrassment to the family, we are currently exploring our therapy options.8 out of 10, The product works as intended, but doesn't seem as sturdy as I had expected. Sandy rates it a 10.
